Fall fun

Not much is new since the last post, except for new pictures of course. William is now five weeks old. He is staying awake for longer periods of time and is so alert! His smiles are so big and his coos are so sweet. William does an awesome job holding his head up when you are holding him. He also loves to stand, just like Nolan did when he was so little! Strong boys! Tummy time is still not William's favorite activity, but when he does tolerate it he can move his head from side to side and do mini push-ups. I hope he starts to like it more once he figures out he has arms and can really push himself up and look around.

Jason and I weighed William last weekend (4 weeks old/1 month) and he weighed 10 lb 6 oz! Holy cow he is growing fast. He is in that awkward in-between stage where newborn clothes are starting to be too small/short, but 3 month clothes are still a little big. I'm sure he'll move into the 3 month clothes pretty fast though. We're also using size 1 diapers instead of newborn diapers. It's always so bittersweet when you have to put away the smaller sizes. You're happy to see them thriving and growing, but sad to see those little clothes go and realize they'll never be this small again.

Nolan is also doing well! He is also going through a big growth spurt. All of a sudden he will hit his head on the bottom of the counter or a bar on his swing set that he wasn't able to reach just a few weeks ago. I'm excited to see how tall he is at his 2 year appointment next month. We just had Nolan get his fifth haircut, and he is finally not hating getting his hair cut anymore! He actually smiled a few times during it. He always looks so much older after his haircut.

Yesterday we went down to Jason's parents' to take the boats and docks out. Nolan had a blast playing at Grandma and Papa's. And of course everyone loved seeing him and also holding William. Nolan loved playing with the light switches, where he could turn on several different lights and the ceiling fan all from one switch. He also had fun playing with Brunson. Nolan loved running around in the big yard, crunching the leaves and jumping in them. I think his favorite activity, though, was making a big loop from the front door into the garage, into the house (through the garage), and back out the front door. He literally ran this loop at least 20 times. At one point I was inside while he was doing it and I saw him come inside from the garage (he didn't see me). He hopped/skipped a few times, yelled something, ran and flipped the lights on and off a few times, then went back out the front door to do it again. He was so happy! It was so cute.

Nolan is saying more and more words every day. He still says a lot of things we can't quite understand yet, but he is also saying more things that we can understand. I can't wait for it just to "click" and for him to start really speaking. I'm sure he'll crack us up with what he is thinking and has to say! Yesterday he held his hands up as if asking a question and said, "Where go Dada?" (Jason was outside helping with the boats/docks). He definitely understands everything we are saying, so it's only a matter of time before he is speaking fluently.

Here are some pictures from our camera from the last few weeks. Next time I'll have to upload my phone pictures, because of course I have a ton of pictures on there to upload as well!
