Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy early Valentines Day! Hard to believe it's almost mid-February. The last few weeks have been pretty busy. My dad and I took Nolan skiing for the first time! He was so excited, but also thought he should go down the hill by himself. We had a few tantrums, but he finally agreed to let us help him. At first we really had to hold him up, but then he got more used to putting weight on his feet. He loved going fast! I definitely want to get him back out there before winter is over.

We had a follow up appointment to check Nolan's fracture. Everything looks great, and we don't have to go back. However, when the orthopedist saw how active Nolan was and how he liked to climb, he said maybe he'll see us again after all. Let's hope not! Never again.

Nolan has been in a very good mood these last few weeks, not nearly as hot headed as he had been recently. It's been a nice change. Let's just hope it stays this way! At least for a little bit!? He's been so well behaved, sharing a lot better, and instead of arguing with us he says, "ok, ok!" He's asked me to lie down with him a few times at night during bedtime, which is sweet.

We went to the zoo a few weeks ago with my friend Carissa and her two boys (ages 2 and 4.5). Both boys loved seeing the animals. Nolan just wanted to keep going, going, especially when he animals were harder to spot. But he did really well, and William enjoyed riding around in the stroller and looking at the animals.

Last week we went to an open house for preschool through St Louis Park schools. We have Nolan signed up for Tuesday and Thursday mornings starting in September. At the open house we went from room to room and got to try out different learning activities. Each room had a theme - math, reading, group time, building blocks, creative play, etc. We were so proud of Nolan at the open house. He was very well mannered, polite, and played very nicely with the other kids and with the activities. William was very cute, too, playing with the toys and refusing to be carried. He wanted to walk from room to room like a big boy.

William has been doing pretty well. We hit a bump in the road with his sleep, but (I think) he's back on track now. We're still waiting on those bottom eye teeth to come through!  He has gone through a growth spurt, which I am happy about. He can now open doors in the house! He is so proud. It's really cute to watch. He stands on his tiptoes to reach the handles.

William also is trying to say more words. It's more of him repeating right now, instead of saying the words on his own. But I have gotten him to say "ni-ni (night night) Da" and "bye Dada". I'm hoping he starts saying more and more! He definitely understands everything we say. He is still such a sweetheart, giving us kisses and kisses. He's such a sweet, happy guy.

I'm going to LA in a few days for a girls weekend. I'm very excited, but at the same time already dreading saying goodbye to Jason and the boys. I'm going to miss them! But I know they'll have so much fun with Jason.

Cute things Nolan has said:
-while skiing: "I got you, Mommy. I'm holding you up."
"Be careful, Papa! Don't fall down!"
"The owner of the little house helped me up." He was referring to the worker who ran the magic carpet on the bunny hill. Haha, so cute!!
