Snow!?

The last few weeks have been very...snowy. While Nolan has been thrilled about it, I have not. Too early! Luckily a lot melted this weekend, but it's only a matter of time until we get pounded with more.

We have had some fun in it, though. Nolan loves playing in it, throwing it, making snow angels and snowmen. Poor William can't really walk in his boots and snow pants/jacket (think Ralphie's brother in A Christmas Story), so the only way we can play outside is if we drag him around on a sled. He enjoys that!

Nolan's three year well check at the doctor went well. Still a big guy! 37 lbs (91%), 39.5" (87%).  Healthy guy! He is still enjoying gymnastics and swimming. We only have a few sessions left of each! Fall has flown by.

Nolan has been extra sweet lately, telling us that he loves us and that we're the best mommy and daddy. William is babbling away. I'm ready for him to start saying more words! He understands what we're saying and knows how to make it known what he wants. He usually says, "na na na!" When he wants something and happily pants like a dog when he is about to get it. It's cute! He also kisses now, smacking his lips together. Such a sweetie.

Other than that, not a whole lot is new. So here are pictures!

Do you want to build a snowman? With dirty snow? And a celery nose?

My old sleeping bag. Nolan can't wait to camp with Daddy in the backyard next summer!

Nolan is 3!!!

Happy 3rd birthday to our Nolan! It's been quite the year for him. It's hard to believe that just earlier this summer he was in a spica cast, unable to sit. You would never know it now! Kids are amazingly resilient.

The week leading up to Nolan's birthday was pretty rough, to be honest. He was in a foul mood for the majority of the week. Very defiant, angry, and throwing tantrums left and right. I think it was a mix of things going on that caused it, from the time change to getting his 3rd cold in a row, to going through growth spurts. Luckily the end of the week was better, and he was a very happy boy on his birthday.

We laid low on Nolan's birthday, hanging out at home. I made birthday cake pancakes, which he devoured. We had his favorite pbj for lunch and Dominos pizza for dinner. After dinner we gave Nolan his big present from us, a Strider balance bike. He was thrilled! He immediately started riding it around the house, grinning from ear to ear the entire time. When we were finally able to peel him off the bike we sang happy birthday and had a yummy cake that Nolan helped me make. It was a great day!

Saturday was his big Daniel Tiger birthday party. It went very well, which made me happy! I always get a little anxious when we host a party. Nolan was a very good birthday boy. He did well sharing his toys (there were a few incidents, but overall he was good). We did have to put his special Buzz away though, so he didn't have to share that. He was happy to have everyone there. Nolan did an awesome job thanking everyone for their present after he opened it. He was so cute when we sang happy birthday to him. He just focused on the cake and didn't really acknowledge our singing, but after he blew out the candle he grinned and clapped. It was really cute!

All in all it was a successful birthday. And I'm happy that now we have a lot of new toys and games to play with, especially since we'll be stuck inside a lot for the next few months (boo, snow!).

Here are pictures from our camera I finally uploaded!
