It's hard to believe April is ending. Mostly because we've had icky, winter, February-like weather, but also because it flew by! I'm 22 weeks along now and baby is looking great! We had our ultrasound two weeks ago. The baby is measuring right on, all the organs look normal/functioning, and the measurements are normal as well, which is always a relief and so good to hear. Jason stuck to his guns about not finding out, and the ultrasound tech did a great job of not saying he/she and not showing us anything revealing (although she checked to make sure everything appears normal on the baby and knows the gender herself).
I'm not good at having that intuition of "knowing" what I'm having, like other women sometimes have. I go back and forth weekly, daily, hourly. ha :) Comparing the way I'm carrying this baby to the way I carried Nolan (both high), and comparing the 4D photos of the baby's facial features to Nolan's, I'd guess that we have another little boy, Nolan 2.0! Only time will tell :)
Nolan is busy, busy, busy (I feel like a broken record saying that every blog post, but he just never slows down!)! Lately he has been piling pillows up on a corner of our sectional and sitting in the middle of them, or else piling them on the floor and running and jumping on them. He also loves to dance to his new favorite song, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
One thing that Nolan has started that I'm hoping will tone down once he starts talking more is screaming/tantrums. I know it's part of toddler territory and I know they won't completely go away when he is able to communicate what he wants/needs better, but I'm hoping it gets a little better. Nolan usually calms down once we figure out what he is mad/frustrated about. One thing that he especially gets upset over, now that it is finally nice out, is when he has to come inside. He absolutely LOVES being outside! He loves the park (and will go down the big slides by himself!), swinging, going for walks, even just running around in the driveway. He gets so upset when we have to go inside! It looks like we'll be spending a lot of time outside this summer!
Nolan is starting to be able to remember things from throughout the day, which is so fun to see. He has been able to remember people, places, things, etc., for a long time, but now it is obvious he can remember events. At dinner Nolan and I will tell Jason what we did that day and Nolan will get this grin on his face as I mention fun things we did. You can just tell that he is thinking about them and remembering. He also can think about what we're going to do. He knows that we'll get ready in the morning and then he'll go see Mamie. He lists all the people we're going to see and also will shake his head and say the people we won't see. I'll change his diaper after his nap at my parents' house and then he says, "go bye bye," which is usually what we do next. It's so cool to see him remembering and thinking ahead!
Here are some pictures of Nolan and his little brother/sister! And also of Keegs. Can't leave him out!
